What is an Air Experience Flight?
It is an unforgettable experience, flying serenely above the rolling Wiltshire countryside in a very light aeroplane, either an open cockpit flex wing or an enclosed fixed wing microlight.
As well as the wonderful sensation of flying and the stunning views, you will have the chance to control the aeroplane (with your instructor’s help, of course), and to see and feel whether flying microlights might be a hobby for you.
An air experience flight also makes an amazing Christmas or birthday gift!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Useful information about Air Experience Flights with Cloudbase Microlighting
What type of Microlight can I fly?
Are there any age, weight or medical restrictions?
Almost anyone can fly – the only restrictions we set are ‘over fourteen years old’ for children, and ‘weigh less than 16 stone’ for everyone.
How long can I fly?
We offer both 30 and 60 minute flights, in either type of microlight. If you’d like to fly for longer, that’s no problem – just give us a call and you can book a longer flight.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please remember your voucher! A camera, sunglasses and comfortable flat shoes (not flip flops) are a good idea, and skirts/dresses are not advisable, especially in the open-cockpit flex wing!
Can I choose where I fly?
You might live locally and want to fly over your house, or you might want to fly over a particular area such as Avebury or Uffington White Horse. Where possible, we will endeavour to fulfil any particular requests. Please give us a call before booking to discuss your requirements.
Can I bring spectators?
Yes, of course! And make sure they bring their camera! Remember the Cafe here at Redlands is open on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is my flight weather dependent?
Yes. All microlight flying is weather dependent and if the weather is too poor on the day of your flight it will be cancelled.
We always try to give you as much notice as possible and simply re-book your Air Experience Flight to another date of your choice.
Does an Air Experience Flight count towards a licence?
If you book a 60 minute flight then yes it does! The great news is that if you go on to learn to fly, you can log a 1hr Air Experience Flight as the very first flight in your logbook and the time counts towards the minimum required for a licence.
If you wish to buy a logbook, we can supply these from our in-house shop.
How do I book?
Booking is very straightforward, simply buy a voucher online or call us on 01793 790183.

Vouchers are valid for a period of one year and we operate all year round seven days a week, although this is of course weather dependant. You’ll need to set aside a day for your flight and in the summer this could mean an early start.
